On this day, way back in 1787, the US Constitution was signed by the 39 delegates that showed up to the Constitutional Convention. For those of you who skipped history class, or didn’t enjoy the very catchy musical Hamilton, the American War for Independence ended in 1783 after 8 years of fighting the British. I’m paraphrasing in the interest of your attention span but England steps back, and leaves the colonies to govern using their proposed Articles of Confederation. The problem with this is that it basically only outlined how a central government would work, and assigned all duties that King George had. For example, passing laws, managing debts of each colony, trade regulations and foreign treaties (to name a few) weren’t centrally managed effectively. One of the more notable points of friction was that the Spanish still owned New Orleans at this time, and thereby owned entry (and declined American access) to the Mississippi River. It was pretty clear that a new system of government was needed, not one remodeled after a monarchy, if they had any hope of functioning. So, a Constitutional Convention formed, meeting in Philadelphia all summer, signing the Constitution on this day in 1787. #fyp #history #nerd #longhair #milf #natural #nude #bogboobs #ass #pussy #hairy
