Hi everyone!

First of all apologies for my very late map, I've had some IRL stuff this month that had to be taken care of. I'll try and make it up to you in the next few weeks with my upcoming maps!

For this map I'm also very proud of the fact that most of the props are homemade, I modeled and textured them myself :) I'll be moving towards making my maps completely custom so I can create maps that exactly fit the idea that I had in mind. In this map the asset I'm most happy with is the tube with the broken glass, and liquid leaking out.

The initial concept of a lab with a broken glass container housing a now escaped test subject came from a good friend of mine, thank you for the idea Áron!

Further inspiration and tone inspiration came mostly from DOOM. I must admit I have not yet played the new versions, but while browsing for concept art and ideas I came across it. I can confirm I have now placed the 2 modern DOOM games near the top of my gaming backlog!

 

Due to an earthquake that happened close to the underground base not long ago, some of the structural integrity of the laboratory have weakened. One of which, and perhaps the most important one, was a tiny crack in the glass of the tube that contained Subject KN-173.

I write "contained", because the crack had not been noticed by the workers on site, and over a span of several weeks had grown larger and larger, leading to the eventual collapse and shattering of the holding tube and allowing the subject to break free...

The moment the glass shattered, the subject leapt out of the glass container, ripped off his monitoring cords, and started viciously attacking everyone currently in the room with him.

The alarm was raised, but it was too late. The subject escaped, but not before murdering every scientist he came across during his escape.

Variants

No Blood - Version without any blood or broken glass, instead of a "day" variant, which I thought was not very fitting for this map.
DOOM - A more hellish and rusty version with orange and heavy reds, perhaps a place to slaughter demons?
Cyber - More cyberthemed neon colours.
Bio Lab - Sci-fi version where the blood has also been replaced by something still organic, but also perhaps alien?
