Happiness and sadness.
Sadness is good. I doubt we could appreciate something really good if we didn't know something bad.
For example, we usually don't notice how good it feels when our bodies are healthy. But when you get sick, experience how bad it can be and get back to normal you feel how nice it is to be healthy again.
Good things. when there's too much of it, you can hate it. Try eating just the same food with no variety all the time. I did this once as a kid and after that I started to hate one of the foods.
Sadness... We are so fond of comparing one thing to another. but the fact is that for example a rich person who suffers from having their usual perfect daily ritual ruined can experience great unhappiness. which would be very meaningful to them. although for other people this would be an unattainable level of happiness.
Everything is relative. everyone has their own happiness and their own sadness.
We all want different things. we all have different visions of the perfect life. What seems insignificant to us may be the greatest happiness for someone else and the greatest sorrow for someone else. Life is always about balance and your own personal path.
