Antarctica in Fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ Carpenter's "The Thing" left a lasting impression on me as a child and probably gave birth to my negative attitude towards horror films haha โ€‹โ€‹๐Ÿ˜… A creepy tense atmosphere, disgusting monsters and a cunning alien creature somewhere far away in the ice of Antarctica trying to spread its influence - yeah, its super creepy ๐Ÿฅถ The film was based on the science fiction story by John Campbell "Who Goes There?", but for some reason it seems to me that the author himself was quite inspired by Lovecraft's story "At the Mountains of Madness"๐ŸงŠ In this work, researchers go to Antarctica and find traces of the Ancient race of the Elders Things, as it turns out, the Elders Things created most aspects of life on the planet, including the first mammals and a creepy workforce called the Shoggoths ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Shoggoths escaped from the control of their masters and arranged a real biological revolution, and scientists faced the consequences of all this millions of years later - I highly recommend it to all enjoyer of such cosmic creepy stories ๐Ÿ˜ธ And what do you think in Antarctica - is there something under a layer of ice, something secret, creepy and forbidden is hidden? #cute #teen #babyface #nerd #skinny

I watched Wes Anderson's new movie โ€” The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar!๐Ÿ’•

Great work, I think it's the first time I've encountered such a way of storytelling in cinema!๐ŸŒธ

While watching the movie, it felt like I was reading a book!๐Ÿ˜ฎ
Wes tried to recreate the reader's imagination while reading!

It turned out quite interesting, I watched it in one go!
And by the way, the film is quite short, just over forty minutes!๐Ÿฅฐ

I saw Elon Musk's tweets about the immigration crisis on the Mexican border. Is that true?๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I think I missed everything, what triggered this new large wave of migration to the USA? Or is it a clever build-up before the elections?๐Ÿคฏ

I no longer know who to believe! Ha-ha!๐Ÿ˜…

I only recently found out that the world's population growth rates are slowing down!

I remember being scared of overpopulation, but now scientists predict that the counter will stop at the end of this century at ten and a half billion people!๐Ÿ˜ญ

And after that, the population will presumably start to decrease! Although I think by that time they will have invented a way to prolong life and it won't be a big problem...๐Ÿ˜…

I often think that the fatalism inherent in our time is due solely to the incredibly high value and significance of human life๐Ÿ’•

So it seems to us that the upheavals of our century are insurmountable because we are unable to cope with them in the short span of time allotted to us by fate๐Ÿ˜”

But I think we will manage to maintain continuity, and after us, people will continue to strive to make this world better! So I'll try to be less afraid of sensational headlines!๐Ÿ˜…๐ŸŒธ

PS: I've sent u a reminder about this set!๐Ÿ˜˜
