Bye bye, Arachnophobia! π·οΈ
Since childhood, I was afraid of bugs, spiders and woodlice! It was a real test for me to be near them and even look at them π±
They seemed very creepy to me, and I could not even explain to myself why they evoked such strong emotions in my brain - I was just scared!
But one day everything changed... At 16, I went to a summer camp, it was with an emphasis on education, very similar to a short-time nice college π€
I chose the Biological Squad, because it was the most interesting direction, ahead of me was meeting nice people, excellent teachers and horrifying tests haha ββπΈ
Once, my squad and I went into the forest to search for and study insects! I really didn't want to go into the forest to catch insects, so as not to disturb these creatures, and I didn't want to get too scared once again π
I hoped that I would just walk around and not have to disturb anyone! And so it was, my group caught a lot of bugs, and I just walked around, but at some point the jars for storing the insects ran out... And our teacher caught a rare, giant, fat beetle with huge antennae, legs, I think this bug was around the size of my palm!πͺ²
There was nowhere to put it and the teacher quickly throwing "Here you go, May" just forcefully put it in my hand and ran away to catch more beetles!!!
I was terribly scared, my hand and whole body were shaking, my eyes widened, I held the bug with two fingers and whined, begging him to take the bug away from me π The bug, as luck would have it, started shaking its head quickly, trying to bite something and loudly rattling its antennae, I almost lost consciousness! I started screaming for the teacher to take the bug away from me, but he just laughed and said: "Hold it, hold it, May, don't let it go for anything!" πΈ
I decided that I would hold the bug and closely monitor all its actions so that it wouldn't bite me or eat me haha ββπ€£ A strong sense of responsibility awoke in me, I realized that this bug was really rare and our "expedition" couldn't miss it!
And after a few mi
