In our country there lives such a people as the Mari, an ancient and unusual folk! I know several Mari people and they are very nice ✨ It may seem that they are closed and stern, but over time these people open up and you begin to understand that they are reliable, sincere and very kind. And they are often silent because they don’t like to waste time and always speak only if it's necessary. They believe that a person's attitude towards nature can say a lot about their essence and inner world, and I couldn't agree more! 😌 The Mari have preserved their ancient religion, and for them this is not just for a hollow tradition and showing off. For many Mari, their faith is what it was thousands of years ago - a spiritual and moral guideline on the path of life. They also have a pantheon of semi-gods, and I want to tell you a little about the forest deities! 🧚🏻 “The god of the forest, Kozhla Yumo, protected forest animals from senseless extermination, protected the forest from cutting down, and it was especially strictly forbidden to cut down trees along rivers and on sandy hills. Lately I've been reading and studying a lot of Scandinavian poetry (making some very interesting content for you) 🧐 You know, Northern culture and its legends are very close to my heart and soul. Unfortunately, most of these tales were written or documented after the emergence of Christianity, and that's why right now we have an interesting synthesis of the cultures. Yet Scandinavia still inherited a rich variety of written and told legends and Scaldic songs. Russians are less fortunate in this regard. Very few monuments of ancient culture have survived in my country. Or rather, mostly archaeological monuments have survived: jewelry, weapons, utensils and musical instruments. But without a cultural context, we cannot always understand how certain objects were used and what ritual and religious significance they had. That vivid and brutal image of the Northern Slavic pagans that we have now, unfortunately, is just a well crafted fairy tale, originally created by the colonizers with the purpose of demonizing and discrediting these very "crude" pagans. And then (in the 20th century) this surrogate idea was happily picked up by neo-pagans and nationalists of all communities. Without such complex ideas and chimeras, it is impossible to justify the colonial crime and barbaric behavior of the "progressive" representatives of humanity 😸 In any case, I am glad to feel a connection with many peoples: the Finno-Ugrians, the Turkic and Germanic tribes who took a significant part in the formation of my gene pool 😅 All these peoples left a certain mark on me and I periodically hear echoes of their memories, plunging my mind's focus into visions of days gone by... Oftentimes Leshy can appear before a traveler, hunter or shepherd in the form of a man, who will certainly look old, but strongly built. Some mysterious power will be flowing in his presence. Also Leshy can be recognized by a specific hat, which he pulls down to his eyebrows. He does this so that ordinary people do not immediately understand who is standing in front of them, since, according to the legend, Leshy has no eyebrows! 😮 Leshy could confront a person in order to test them or talk about a specific matter. If a person behaves disrespectfully towards the forest and its inhabitants, Leshy can punish such a person with little mercy, though in rare cases with granting forgiveness. If a trespasser is polite and nice in relations with nature, Leshy can reward them and even teach them some wisdom unknown to a mortal being 💫 In the area where I live, people often get into strange occasions in the forest. Suddenly on the paths in front of them a mysterious old man appears, asking them for some small request, and all my fellow countrymen try to fulfill it, because they know that Leshy's wrath is a terrbile thing! It also happens that Leshy makes people get lost in the forest. In such cases only an ancient ritual helps, in which a person needs to turn all their clothes inside out and swap their shoes - and just like that they get back to the familiar path! 🤓 These are the mystical places I live in! 😄 #cute #teen #babyface #babygirl #skinny #nature
