Found this in my memories today! This is an OLD photo, taken on my 20th birthday. 20 is the age you legally become an adult in Japan, so it's a huge celebration. My family dressed me up in a traditional, 12-layer kimono, just like the kind that nobles and royalty wore back in the day. They applied the old-style makeup and hair on me too. The kimono was so heavy, I couldn’t even move or walk in it! It was close to 100lbs of material! April 29 is Showa Day, a national holiday in Japan where we commemorate former Emperor Showa, so I am planning another Japanese cosplay for that day. I would love to cosplay as a Japanese princess for you, but these royal kimonos are incredibly expensive: $10,000 for just the kimonos, and another few thousand for the wigs. Even renting the attire just like I did back then is $500 for a few hours. Since the last geisha cosplay I did was popular, I will be doing that again in honor of Showa Day. I will be giving another NSFW Japanese lesson and plan on doing a nationalistic JOI video where I fantasize about Emperor Showa. I love doing these cosplays, because it's like I am giving a culture and history lesson (an NSFW version, of course). In July, I will also be going to Japan to visit my extended family for one week. I will be going solo; my husband will not be coming with me on that trip. But I will be sure to post a lot of interesting Japanese things during that week! I want to try filming in one of those themed love hotels.
