Something a little deeper today! It was like the shadow had finally had enough. It pulled itself out of the wall of sand, slow at first, like it wasn’t sure if it was allowed. For years it had stayed there, thinking that was just how life worked — stuck, flat, part of a machinery it didn’t control. Maybe the shadow was just a feeling, or some deep intuition, breaking free before the rest of me could. Naked, nothing to hide behind, it stepped into the light, it might turns back, takes my hand, and trying to pull me out too.
